John is a Bay Area Radio veteran who started his career broadcasting beach traffic reports over Santa Cruz in the mid 80’s. His airborne reporting experience led him to KCBS Radio, where he not only covers traffic for the San Francisco Bay Area, but also covers traffic reports for both Sacramento and Portland, Oregon.
Among his many broadcasting achievements, John holds the distinction of being the first reporter over the scene of the fallen Bay Bridge and Cypress Structure following 1989’s Loma Prieta earthquake, as well as numerous breaking news events while flying around the region covering traffic.
John has worked as a play-by-play announcer for minor league baseball and for San Jose State University as well as stints as a public address announcer for San Jose State University, the University of California Berkeley, and the NCAA.
John was raised on the Peninsula, and recently made a move to the Coast, setting up residence in Half Moon Bay. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the coast from California to Washington, along with trips to the Wine Country.
He is also a big sports fan, backing San Jose State, along with the Giants, 49ers and Sharks.
